On July 10th, the anniversary of his birth, many people and organizations around the world will be participating in a celebration and salute to the achievements of Nikola Tesla. The first half of this demonstration video shows a variety of Protozoan micro-organisms being destroyed by a plasma wave originating from the Beam Ray device. This was accomplished without direct connection, through the air, from a distance of about four to five feet. The second half of the video explains in a step by step process how easy it is to actually construct and operate the device. The video tape of micro organism destruction was made entirely with dark field illumination; this method of illumination produces higher resolution and truer color renditions than standard bright field microscopy. A variety of types of destruction of the micro organisms is shown on the video. Some organisms just die, apparently from some sort of metabolic disruption. Another organism shows the effects of internal self-digestion, apparently from lyosome destruction and release of various digestive enzymes. Most organisms just "blow up" and then disintegrate into extremely small particulate matter.

Ruth Drown used a form of spiritual healing that was based on combining the numerological magick of the Qabalah with scientific magick of the human electro-chemical glandular system as stimulated by the circuitry developed by Albert Abrams.

It is very different that the sort of Radionics that we see in the more popular magickal radionic websites that turn up with a search on Radionics.

Ruth was able to intuitively tap into what Israel Regardie calls the middle pillar in a physical way. The spheres of influence on the middle pilliar are similar to the chakras of kundalini yoga. Borderland Scientists have come to understand the chakras as the glandular plexus and glands.

Ruth Drown was able to tap into the energy generating centers of the nervous system with a device that consisted of a silver foot plate and a tin block that would be held against the solar plexus. When the body is placed within this circuit a galvanic current is set in motion. Galvanic electricity flows at very very subtle levels but can be seen to increase with emotional intensity.

The galvanic currents are generated and pass through the glands along the wires of the nervous system. The Drown Radio Therepy box allows this energy to be harnessed and passed through a series of coils that are attached to dials. These dials are calibrated from 1 to 10 and have a direct relationship to the Tree of Life. It can be glimpsed here how the nervous system is the physical tree of life that is spoken about in myth and symbolism.

With a highly developed intutituve sense that is very similar to dowsing she would use what is called a stick pad to detect energy blocks. The stick pad is a rubber diaphram streched over a hollow core. The diamagnetic nature of rubber is harder to explain but gives a reaction between the electomagnetic energies (galvanic currents) of the body and the energies within the healers body.

She was able to then tune the box to correct the energy imbalance and retore the natural harmony of the body's internal etheric structure which is the blue print that the glands use to sustain health.

L. George Lawrence, a Silesian-born electronics specialist, began his studies into plant biodynamics in 1962 while employed as a instrumentation engineer for a Los Angeles space-science corporation. He was actually engaged in a project to develop jam-proof missile components, and believed that using plant tissue as a type of transducer would produce the desired results. He summarized that living plant tissues or leaves were capable of simultaneously sensing temperature change, gravitational variation, electromagnetic fields, and a host of other environmental effects — an ability no known mechanical sensor possessed.

These initial investigations led him to the works of Alexander Gurwitsch, a Russian histologist, whose experiments in the 1920s proved that all living cells produce invisible radiations of a biodynamic character.

Owing to the fact that these rays from the onion "ray gun" demonstrated increased cell division or mitosis in the target, Gurwitsch called them "mitogenetic rays." Many other laboratories would confirm his findings. Researchers in Paris, Moscow, Berlin, and Frankfort all corroborated Gurwitsch’s results. Only the U.S. Academy of Sciences reported that Gurwitsch’s discovery was not replicable, and suggested it was merely his fertile imagination.

This system of being able to manage and direct the vital force in living plant tissue sparked Lawrence into action. Equipped with the knowledge of Cleve Backster’s recent experiments with plants and a polygraph instrument, Lawrence began building several psycho-galvanic analyzers to detect responses in plants. He quickly corroborated the results that Backster had obtained from his plant experiments — these results indicating that plants displayed a unique cellular consciousness.

As a kook science publisher who does not speak math very well I can honestly tell you that it is fairly difficult to find an academic peer reviewed journal that will back up this claim. The Journal of Borderland Research is/was reviewed by peers...but mostly kooks...haha...

And yes perhaps I need to take a Universtiy course in E&M. The kooks often claim that academic education will too deeply bias your mind. I am the first to admit that I am a poor do-gooder with a crummy educational background. I will attempt to muddle through this despite my obvious limitations...bear with me.

My first source is from the kook community. Ken Adachi has written the following paragraph without providing sources. Let's just agree to call this a very popular source for the myth of Tesla and Hertz.

3.4.3.3 Longitudinal Electric Waves
In the late 19th century, scientists were trying to understand the electric wave phenomena discovered by Dr. Heinrich Hertz. The properties of electric wave phenomena claimed by Dr. Nikola Tesla were totally different than the properties of the electric wave phenomena claimed by Dr. Hertz, and this lead to contention between the competing viewpoints (Ref. 33, p. 191).

Because of the controversy, the eminent scientist, Professor William Thomson of Glasgow University, Scotland (also known as Lord Kelvin) traveled to New York in 1897 to see Tesla's experiments and, as a result, he concluded that both Tesla and Hertz were correct. The explanation is that Hertz experimented with transverse waves, whereas Tesla's waves were longitudinal.

Hertz claimed that the transverse electric waves he discovered could be calculated with Dr. ames Clerk Maxwell's electrodynamic equations, and scientists of that time accepted the experimental agreement with mathematical calculations as proof Hertz was correct.

However, as explained in a recent NASA CR, almost no scientists or engineers today have even seen (much less understood) Dr. James Clerk Maxwell's original electrodynamic equations, published in 1865, which did predict longitudinal waves, transverse waves, and much more (Ref. 1, p. 81). What scientists and engineers today refer to as "Maxwell's Equations" is an extremely simplified set of electrodynamic equations that is quite different than what Maxwell published. A more correct name for what is taught today would be Maxwell-Heaviside equations, as Oliver Heaviside was the major adversary of Maxwell who removed the capability to calculate longitudinal electric waves and electric potentials from Maxwell's original equations.

One of the major puzzles facing space weather scientists is the Earth’s weakening magnetic field. As the magnetic field weakens, so too does the Earth’s natural defense against harmful solar and cosmic radiation. In December 2008, NASA scientists discovered a huge breach in the Earth’s magnetic field that was far larger than anything observed previously. The weakening magnetic field and emergence of giant breaches will allow far more solar energy to enter into the Earth’s atmosphere than anytime in known history. The first “new energy” system that could be used for small scale electricity generation was developed by Dr T. Henry Moray. Dr Moray was an electrical engineer who developed some of Nikola Tesla’s ideas found in his 1901 Radiant Energy patent. In 1928, Dr Moray developed and tested his first functional new energy device that was able to draw energy from the environment. He successfully demonstrated his energy machine to many scientists and engineers who acknowledged that it genuinely worked and no fraud was involved. However, they could not understand why it worked. Moray’s device was then dismissed a priori since it appeared to violate conservation of energy laws. A long line of inventors have since come forward to demonstrate similar technologies, but again these have been dismissed a priori by most scientists as perpetual motion machines.

Where there are electric fields , there are also magnetic fields, usually rotated at 90 degress to each other. The interplay of the electric and magnetic fields play a role in this therapy, but the frequency, the shape of the wave, the duration and polarity of the pulse, etc., all play into the mix and can make the difference between success or failure depending on the care and attention given to these parameters.

This is not necessarily a new technology. Steiner developed Goethe's conception of the etheric earth breathing process. The major etheric force involved in the breathing of the earth as a living organism is the chemical ether.

Borderland Sciences Research Foundation was doing research on Ether Physics since the late 1940's and provided a physical model for perceiving the invisible etheric realms. Carl F. Krafft has many volumes available on his distinctly geometric models of the atomic structure of the etheric realm. "Physicists like the late Carl F. Krafft, who saw the ether dynamically have been denied recognition."

"Science proceeding in this way must open higher consciousness in the long run, complete with new modes of mentation. If not interfered with politically of psychically, or both, true scientific inquiry will ultimately break the Ahrimanic lock on scientific cognition. There is therefore impedance everywhere in science in areas where evidence of the ethers bursts through or is likely to do so."

This is as true today as it was in 1975 when Cosmic Pulse of Life was first published. By the middle of the decade following the millennium the word "ether" was as little understood as it was in the 1940's Etheric Physics, Rudolf Steiner's Four Ethers, or even Ruth Drown or Wilhelm Reich. For us today who are building a new world and engineering the etheric it is helpful to see what exactly the obstacles might be. "Human beings must at all costs-in the eyes of the Ahrimanic powers-be prevented from re-establishing the lawful connections between themselves and the cosmos of which they are both part and product."

It has been the advance in gadgetry that has really triumphed for the etheric engineer. From the black boxes of Radionics to Reich's Cloud-Busters the hands on physical technology has driven the direct experience of the etheric realms.

There is no other choice than to seize control of ourselves and create a community of individuals who have forged in the ether a fundamental shift in consciousness towards the higher. "In this battle, we are called to redeem the earth through the creation of a new humanity-a humanity that will arise only if we can restrain ourselves from shaping the new children to the patterns of the past."

Those of us who have been able to harness this force are called on to move the entire human race forward with practical etheric engineering. Understanding the human body's physical reactions to Orgone Energy is essential to etheric engineering because it this energy has powerful reactions that must be directed properly.

In 1994, José and Karen Escamilla accidentally caught on tape strange flying rods with undulating appendages. They continue their quest to find out what they are.
José Escamilla, explorer and filmmaker, discovered strange flying rods while investigating UFOs with his wife Karen in New Mexico in 1994. A satisfactory explanation for these enigmatic things is still being sought. Are they alive? Are they dangerous? Where do they come from and where do they go? In answers to this month's 20 Questions, José talks about this bizarre phenomenon.

1. How, when and where did you first discover the rods?
J.E.: On March 5, 1994, I videotaped UFOs that appeared in broad daylight over Midway, New Mexico - a small community nine miles southeast of Roswell. Then on March 19,1998, I again videotaped the area, making a documentation of where the UFOs had appeared on March 5. While reviewing the March 19 tape, I saw something that I had never seen before: A streak passes by the camera from across the road and right above where I was standing. As I saw this through the viewfinder, my first impression was that these were insects or birds. Then when I reviewed the footage frame by frame, I realized that they were not insects or birds... but something else. Upon seeing the objects on video, Karen, my wife, coined them "rods" because they resemble microorganisms she has seen under a microscope.

2. Do they only show up in photos and video, or can they be seen with the naked eye?
J.E.: They can be seen with the naked eye. If you have ever seen something zip by in your eye peripheral - and most all of us immediately assume it was a close flyby of an insect or bird - but then you turn and look and there are no birds or insects anywhere in sight, then you have witnessed a rod with the naked eye. People have come up to me at lectures after seeing the footage of what these things look like, and they tell me that they too have seen them with the naked eye. They are extremely fast, but they can be seen.

3. What do you think they are? Are they alive?
J.E.: All the footage, from the early shots to the latest "smoking-gun evidence" from the cave in Mexico, seem to reflect that these objects may be living organisms. In fact, we now have discovered how they may fly! I have also just acquired footage of an actual cigar-type UFO that is traveling from left to right and slow across the sky over Rhode Island, and two rods zip through - all in the same scene! This is groundbreaking footage because lots of people who have been videotaping rods have termed them as alien craft, which we feel they are not. The cigar-shaped object in this particular footage resembles in great detail the object videotaped by Tim Edwards and Tom King, and it certainly moves much slower than the two rods. We are excited about this new evidence.

4. How do you know they're not just lens flares or some other optical anomaly?
J.E.: Early on in the investigation, I knew we would have to dispel the claims that skeptics would make in trying to discredit what we were documenting, so we did a variety of tests, including shooting toward the sun where lens flares would appear across the lens POV. And guess what? We captured rods zipping past as they always do, and the lens flares remain stationary in the scene.

5. There are many skeptics, of course, who have denounced both your methods and your findings. Can they be convinced?
J.E.: Most people don't know that I am a professional film and video editor with extensive credits and experience. And in doing these tests, I came up with a protocol that basically washes away the insect-bird theories skeptics also brought out. With this protocol, which I call "sky fishing," there is no way that anyone can misidentify all that is videotaped. Skeptics like Joe Nickel of Skeptical Inquirer don't claim insects anymore because of the obvious, but they have alluded to a hoax. Kal Korff and Bob Shell, however, continue to call rods mis-filmed insects. This is simply because they don't know any better. Needless to say, the new Smoking-Gun Evidence video shows it all.

6. How big do you estimate them to be?
J.E.: We can only estimate at this time, but anywhere from a few inches to a hundred or more feet in length. There is a still taken over Maryland (see State by State on our Web site) where a rod's torso is covered by a cloud while part of the tail and head can be seen. Judging the height of the clouds at a minimum of 1,500 to 2,000 feet, this rod must be longer than a hundred feet, and it was traveling at a high velocity.

7. How fast do you calculate they are moving?
J.E.: One rod in Norway ascended upward toward where a cameraman was videotaping base jumpers down below. He is literally standing at the edge of a cliff 3,000 feet above the ocean. Down below you can see the beach and coastline, some clouds, and a base jumper who has leaped off the cliffs. This rod emerges from the left side of the screen, and it appears small. As it moves closer to where the cameraman is, it gets larger before going off upper right screen. The rod travels about 3,000 feet in 10 frames of video. At 30 frames per each second of video, this means it travels that distance in one-third of a second. That is very fast. So they may travel from 150 to perhaps 1,000 miles per hour. We have yet to get an accurate speed.

8. This seems like a fairly recent phenomenon. Why do you think they have never been seen or detected before?
J.E.: Actually, they have been seen and detected before. In the late 1950s, Trevor James Constable photographed rods using infrared film. He called them "critters." Ivan T. Sanderson, a biologist, also photographed them. A man named Tom Jonestroem videotaped rods in Sweden in 1989 and 1990. He captured rods while filming tank footage for the Swedish defense department. They all scoffed at him, claiming they were mis-filmed insects. However, a Hollywood crew videotaped the identical type of rod as Tom's over North Hollywood while shooting The World's Scariest Police Shootouts. This not only vindicates Tom, but also proves the rods were seen and recorded by accident before we discovered them on our videos.

9. Those are still recent sightings. Any record of anything older?
J.E.: In 1896, for two days straight, people over Crawfordsville, Indiana saw a large, 30-foot thing in the sky they called a "Sky Monster" that moved "like a serpent swimming through the air." This was probably a rod. Other case histories included the dragons in caves and skies over London, the "ghost rockets" over Norway and Sweden, and many other historical "myths" that could have been rods.

10. If they are living creatures, why do you think they cannot be seen at rest? Or can they?
J.E.: We have been asked about why there are no carcasses. If rods only exist in the skies, perhaps they are one-celled animals that have the lighter-than-air weight required for existing in the atmosphere. If we look at the sky as a less-dense "ocean," then when they die perhaps they float "up" to the less-dense areas of the atmosphere. Perhaps rods eat the dead rods for the precious gases they must use for their buoyancy. We just don't know until we can catch one or find a carcass. Who knows, maybe there is a specimen somewhere that has been passed off as part of a squid or cuttlefish or something. Scientists don't know they exist... yet.

11. Where do you think they are flying to?
J.E.: We don't know where they come from or where they go, but at the cave in Mexico we have hundreds of rods on video, suggesting this might be a habitat where we can go and study them using more technical, scientific methods over a more controlled environment. Mark Lichtle, who videotaped hundreds of rods "by accident," says that as far as finding a carcass, this might explain why one hasn't been found: In the cave, there are literally thousands of swallows that live there. He said you would expect to find hundreds of dead swallows at the bottom of the cave. He has only found one dead swallow's carcass in all the times he's been there. So if that's any indication, maybe that's why rods' carcasses can't be found even at the cave. We won't know until we get to the cave during the expedition we are planning in November this year [1998]. We want to find a specimen. This would be the most important discovery in the world of science. We can only hope we'll be lucky.

12. Are there more than one kind of rod? How many different kinds have you detected?
J.E.: The different types we have recorded are: the "centipede" types, which have the appendages across the torso; "white rods," which have no appendages, but appear to have a ribbon-like appearance; and "spears," which are super-thin and very fast with no appendages at all. Color varieties are yellow, white, reddish brown, and dark brown.

13. Have rods be recorded around the country?
J.E.: They have now been seen in more than 28 states across the U.S. (see State by State) and in Canada, Norway, Sweden, and Mexico.

14. What kinds of reports have you received from these areas?
J.E.: In the state-by-state section of our Web site, you will see reported sightings, and there are some areas where we have not received the video yet.

15. Has there ever been an attempt to catch one?
J.E.: Not yet, but we will try during the expedition. However, if they are a species, they could be classified as an endangered species, so by catching one I want it to be perhaps a carcass as opposed to trying to trap one alive. I would hate to find out that we might have pissed one off as we don't know their true nature.

16. Do you think they might be dangerous?
J.E.: They appear to be friendly. During one photo shoot, there was one rod that comes close to colliding with a base jumper in the cave, and at the last minute it makes an abrupt maneuver to avoid a collision. I would hate to think what one of these might do if it were threatened.

17. Are they easier to catch with a still camera or a video camera?
J.E.: Still cameras capture them, but video catches them more often. Remember that videotape can be re-recorded on, while still photographic cameras take stills one at a time. It would take an enormous amount of film and cost in order to capture them on still cameras. However, we intend to use high-speed 16mm film cameras at the cave where they appear to exist in more frequency.

18. What kind of research are you currently doing on the rods?
J.E.: First of all, we are always encouraging people to use our protocol for videotaping rods, and to contact us if they might have recorded one or more in their areas. We need more evidence of their existence in other locations so that we may get a better mapping of rod activity across the U.S. and around the world. We just made the breakthrough on how these things may fly with a crude rod model I built and animated using the undulatory wave membrane theory brought up by Jim Peters. We want to put the rods phenomena in the public eye as a real thing, as opposed to just another UFO sighting that can be easily dismissed.

19. But you don't put them in the same category as UFOs the way most people think of them, do you?
J.E.: Although rods are unidentified flying objects until we identify them as anything else - including a species - we feel that we now have more than coincidental evidence of their existence. Perhaps after the expedition they will be taken more seriously. Plus, once people are unafraid to go on record for seeing rods in the skies, they will begin to see the "other things" that are appearing in the skies. Rods will bring down the barriers caused by fear of admitting we see things. We'll just have to continue making a strong case pertaining to the rods phenomena. As it is, we now have smoking-gun evidence as to their existence. The next level is to find out what they are or aren't, where they go and come from, and then it's up to science to determine what to do next.

20. How can other people try to detect the rods? If they do, how should they report the sighting?
J.E.: I urge people to see the "sky fishing" section on our Web site. I can be e-mailed about their videos, and I will respond to anyone who feels they might have captured rod activity in their area. Eye of Revelation: Scientific Utility of The Five Rites

The Five Rites of Rejuvenation as described by Peter Kelder (Eye of Revelation) in 1937 are a striking example of how Orgone energy is created and circulated in the body. In that same year, in his work Experimental Investigation of the Electrical Function of Sexuality and Anxiety, Dr. Wilhelm Reich, M.D. demonstrated his hypothesis that the storage areas of bioelectrical energy was the autonomic nervous system. Dr. Reich identified neurotic sexual stasis, on a physiological basis, as "the expression of the impaired functioning of the autonomic ganglia".

George Crile (in 1936) also in shows in "The Phenomena of Life- A Radio Electric Interpretation" how the glands govern the bodies electrical systems. "It is at once clear that there is within the organism an energy controlling system which is activated by the special senses primarily. Theoretically, this system would consist of the special senses the brain, the adrenal-sympathetic system and the thyroid gland." 1

If one pays particular attention to the Five Rites they will see that in each position the head is tucked in or it is stretched back. These are not physical exercises or strenuous stretches meant to give you a work out. The very subtle and gentle action of tucking your chin next to your chest applies a very small amount of physical stress to the thyroid gland. This gland over time will begin to actually grow stonger cause of this stress. As the glands grow stronger, tougher, more resilient the body is able to create and circulate more bio-electricity.

The same holds true for stimulating the adrenal-sympathetic system. It is not hard to see how certain parts of the rites are meant to gently stimulate the kidneys and strenthen the adrenal cortex.

Peter Kelder in his original work (available only from Borderland Sciences Research Foundation since 1975) talks about how this energy is turned ever upward.

"...the SUPER-MAN turns the procreative urge upward and reproduces within himself a new man - a stronger, powerful, magnetic man who is constantly growing younger, day by day, moment by moment."

To fully understand the "intuitional" and "poetic" language Peter Kelder was using it will be vital to divert into a section of Wilhelm Reichs work on Orgone energy.

Experimental Investigation of the Electrical Function of Sexuality and Anxiety

The experimental investigation of skin potentials in pleasure and anxiety has supported our hypothesis that the process of excitation gives rise to two opposite directions of flow of bioelectrical current: towards the periphery and towards the center. The question of the nature of the current may now be clearly answered, the sensation of streaming is not solely contingent upon the blood flow in pleasure and anxiety, but also on the transmission of electrically charged particles by the blood and lymph streams. It has long been known that ionic currents exist in the blood.

The skin now turns out to be the peripheral site at which the electrical charges are deposited or withdrawn; the autonomic periphery, so to speak. The existence of the direction "towards the world," on which we based our sex-economic: theory of the instincts, is clearly confirmed.

However, the nature of the direction "away from the world, into the self" has remained less clear until now. Where is the bioelectric current concentrated during anxiety? This brings up the question of the autonomic center.

The autonomic center:

Where in the body are the sources and storage areas of bioelectrical energy to be found? Our first hypothesis was-the autonomic nervous system (primarily the celiac; hypogasrtric, and pudendal plexuses). I will shortly offer clinical support for this assumption. The autonomic nervous system represents the generator, that is, the source of the electrical energy of the human body. The experimental investigations reported in the first part of this paper thoroughly substantiate this assumption. Now let us test to what extent it is supported by clinical facts and how it enables us to comprehend hitherto unexplainable phenomena in neurotic and emotional disorders.

To do this, we must free ourselves from a preconceived notion which conventional thinking in neurology and medicine tends to foster. The term "center" usually refers to the cerebrum and its associated relaystations through which the nerve impulses are conducted. It would be premature to discuss in detail the appropriateness of such a use of this term. In any case, it involves the mechanical concept of the cerebrum as the true control center and source of all impulses which are transmitted to the rest of the body. The cerebrum is seen as the ruler, so to speak, of all of man's actions. However, recent work in neuropathology (especially that of Goldstein) has sought to bring forth a completely new concept which seems to deprive the cerebrum of its hitherto dominant function. The discovery of the autonomic functions has excited the interest of all branches of medicine. Moreover, the essential workings of this system and its relationship to the psyche are being eagerly explored.

My formulation of the function of the vagal and sympathetic systems, the basic antithesis of vegetative life, is in complete accord with this newer direction and opposes on many counts mechanistic cerebral physiology. A lengthy discussion would be premature here but we must make clear that the expression "autonomic center" implies much more than merely the "center" of the autonomic nervous system: It really connotes the center of all biophysiological and character-affective functioning in general.

According to this view, the cerebrum--conservatively speaking is only a specially developed accelerating and braking apparatus for the totality of autonomic bodily functions. This view is supported by the undeniable fact that the living organism shows an instinctive purposefulness long before the cerebrum is developed. In particular, the emotional processes, such as pleasure, anxiety, and anger, which have so greatly concerned us here, are by no means dependent on the existence of the cerebrum. Autonomic functions are phylogenetically older than those of the cerebrum. Thus the expression "autonomic center" has a much deeper significance than might appear at first glance. We must assume that cerebral functioning is also dependent upon autonomic functioning in general.

If we place a grid electrode on the epigastrium, about halfway between the umbilicus and the xiphoid process, the skin potential usually registers about -20 to -40 mV. If a finger is pressed into the abdomen near the electrode, there is a steady drop in potential of about 10 to 20 mV. The same thing happens when the subject bears down as if at stool or inhales deeply. One may object that the fall in potential is due to the finger pressure on the skin. But, since deep inspiration produces the same kind of potential drop, this objection is invalid. When the subject exhales, the skin potential slowly rises to its previous level. During respiration, patients who are chronically held in the diaphragm and unable to exhale fully show lower and less clearly defined potential deflections than subjects with complete respiratory motility. This symptom warrants careful consideration. During inspiration, the diaphragm descends, compressing the organs beneath it; the abdominal cavity diminishes in volume, while the chest expands. During expiration, the opposite occurs: The chest contracts, and the abdomen expands. A second phenomenon points in the same direction. On deep inspiration, all vegetative streaming sensations subside completely in the upper abdomen. Conversely, on deep expiration, sensations akin to pleasure or anxiety appear in the upper abdomen or lower chest.

A glance at the organs of the abdominal cavity will clarify these experimental results. We see that two important organs lying beneath the dome of the diaphragm are mechanically displaced by the diaphragmatic movement. These are the stomach and the underlying Solar plexus, the largest plexus of the autonomic nervous system. We have observed empirically that pressure reduces the buildup of electrical charge. We must further assume that the skin is continually being charged by a steady bioelectric current arising from a "still un-determined center." With pressure or anxiety, the charge on the skin decreases. In a state of pleasure, the bioelectrical charge reaches out like an animal to contact the outside world; in a state of anxiety, it pulls back. Now let us try to picture what happens to the viscera surrounding the abdominal and pelvic nervous plexuses when a person is in a state of fright:

1.The breath is drawn in deeply, and the shoulders are pulled up;
2.the abdominal muscles contract tightly; and
3.the pelvic floor quickly pulls up.

Thus the abdomen behaves in anxiety like a creature that has some thing to protect. The walls press more closely on its contents. It seems obvious that what is being protected is the highly sensitive ganglia apparatus of the abdomen and the pelvis. The drop in abdominal skin potential upon compression or contraction of the abdominal wall can only be explained by the fact that an increased pressure is exerted on the plexus, which inhibits its bioelectrical activity. We will substantiate this theory in a later presentation of clinical data. Briefly stated:
Ii it now possible to understand neurotic sexual stasis, on a physiological basis, as The expression of the impaired functioning of the autonomic ganglia.

The following are the details as removed from the file TESLAFE1 :

"The standard internal combustion engine was removed and an
80-H.P. 1800 r.p.m electric motor installed to the clutch and
transmission.

The A.C. motor measured 40 inches long and 30 inches in
diameter and the power leads were left standing in the air -
no external power source!

He then went to a local radio store and purchased a handful of
tubes (12), wires and assorted resistors. A box measuring 24
inches long, 12 inches wide and 6 inches high was assembled
housing the circuit.

The box was placed on the front seat and had its wires
connected to the air-cooled, brushless motor. Two rods 1/4" in
diameter stuck out of the box about 3" in length."

The mention of this experiment in a local paper kind of blew me away
but it did give "some" detail of what was in this mysterious power
box.

We know that T.H. Moray had probably the best known version of such
a device. In his case he used a special "valve" which appeared to
be basically a diode. Except this diode worked more like a Triac.
That is, any electrical wave, both positive AND negative going
currents, was picked up by an antenna and passed through this diode
with minimal loss of energy. As far as we know, this valve was
based on a composite substance with GERMANIUM as the host material.

From there it went through a tuned circuit based on vacuum tubes and
capacitors to build and discharge the energy as demanded by the
load.

The tuned circuits were resonant with one or more earth or cosmic

frequencies and the vacuum tubes acted as harmonic constructive
interference amplifiers of the input signals.

We will note that Moray's resonant circuits used CAPACITORS, COILS
and RESISTORS. Experiments done during Moray's heyday showed an
output up to 50,000 Watts of high frequency energy. It is believed
that the energy was high frequency because 100 watt light bulbs
burned cool to the touch.

One other CRITICAL POINT about Moray's converter was that it would
ONLY energize RESISTIVE loads and NOT INDUCTIVE loads. This is
because inductive loads imply coils of wire which are heated more so
by HYSTERESIS (interferring electro-magnetic fields) rather than
simple resistance from the flow of current through molecular/atomic
patterns.

This type of interferring field caused an energy backup and
subsequent de-tuning of Moray's generator. Since it was essentially
a TUNED device, it could not compensate for any frequency changes or
distortions ONCE TUNED. As a result, any attempt to hook up an
inductive load would cause the device to stop generating electrical
energy. To restart it, all inductive loading must be removed, the
device re-tuned and restarted.

Moray also used an unusual mode of operation for a vacuum tube in
that he operated with a "cold cathode." This did not require a
heated plate for the "thermionic emissions" deemed necessary to
successful vacuum tube operation.

There is also mention of radioactive elements in the antenna circuit
which leads one to think he might have been tuning into the
continual radioactive decay processes of nature, rather than cosmic
or earth energies.

Now to the Tesla Power Box

We will first of all note the use of an AC coil motor. This alone
tells us that the Tesla device was superior and not so dependent on
tuning as was Moray's machine which could only power RESISTIVE
loads. All universal energy moves in WAVES and so is essentially
for alternating current (AC). That is why Moray called his book
"THE SEA OF ENERGY IN WHICH THE EARTH FLOATS". The entire universe
is continually bathed in these AC energies and they cover the entire
frequency spectrum.

What intrigues the hell out of me was how Tesla could use "off-the-
shelf" vacuum tubes and other components, put them together in the
correct configuration and make it work.

Another point we should note is the list of components :

1) 12 Vacuum Tubes
2) Wires
3) Assorted Resistors
4) 1/4" diameter rods 3" in length

NOTE, NO CAPACITORS! The wires could have been simply for
connection or wound as coils. The 1/4" rods were either BUS BARS
for power output taps OR more likely ANTENNAS! Resonant circuits

can be constructed using several techniques. You can achieve the
same effect from :

1) Resistors AND capacitors
2) Capacitors AND coils
3) Coils AND resistors

So, in the case of the Tesla Power Box, he either wound his own
coils or simply used the wire to connect the resistors with the
vacuum tubes. I am of the opinion that he used the wire ONLY for
connection and DID NOT USE COILS! I also think he used a DIODE
somewhere in the circuit in order to tap ONLY one polarity.

We have no specifications for the AC motor that Tesla used in the
auto, so we have no idea if it was single or polyphase. In the case
of a single phase motor, it only requires a single winding which
projects a magnetic field that rotates according to the increase or
decrease of the alternating current.

A polyphase (poly = two or more) motor uses multiple windings which
are fed by phased input currents that alternate in such a manner as
to reinforce each other. In the case of a 3 phase motor, the
currents are phased 120 degrees apart. This gives much greater
torque to the motor but requires 3 times the current because it uses
3 times the input energy.

Since the box powered an AC (coil) motor, it is probable it was
TUNED to one or more frequencies, most likely polyphased
frequencies.

So, if the 3" long rods were in fact ANTENNAS, we can calculate
their frequency by using the following :

(I cannot express Lambda here so we will use w for wavelength)

w = wavelength
v = velocity of propagation
f = signal frequency

a short example : w = v / f = wavelength in feet
w = 984,000,000/1,500,000 = 656 feet
f = 984,000,000/656 = 1,500,000 or 1.5 MHZ

3 inches * 4 = 1 foot
984,000,000/1 = 984,000,000
984,000,000/4 = 246,000,000 or 246 MHZ

This would indicate the 3" rods (if they were truly 3" in length and
functioning as antennas) would resonate at 246 MHZ.

Because of the parts list description, I am of the opinion that it
was a DUAL circuit. That is, 6 vacuum tubes and one 1/4" diameter
3" rod along with assorted resistors were to pick up and "pump" ONLY
the positive going signals, while the other 6 vacuum tubes, rod and
resistors did the same for the negative going signals. Such a
scheme could either use PARALLEL or SERIAL connections of the vacuum
tubes. Since current conduction is proportional to surface area,
one would think that a parallel arrangement of the vacuum tubes with
all INPUTS connected to one antenna source and all OUTPUTS connected

to a common terminal attached to the load, would provide for the
MAXIMUM current flow from incoming energy waves.

The nature of these "energy waves" is the question here. Are they
cosmic rays, electrostatic, Schumann peaks, magnetic force,
something "other" or Aether flow into the neutral centers of mass as
per Keely.

Vacuum tube construction takes several forms. Of these, the
simplest is two plates separated by a grid wire. When the bottom
plate is heated, thermally induced ions (thermionic emissions) are
emitted by the bottom plate. The grid can be biased by the
application of voltage to increase, decrease or halt the flow of
these ions to the upper plate.

Other forms include more plates with more grids to allow better
control of the ion flow. By proper biasing, vacuum tubes can be
operated as switches, modulators or amplifiers among other uses.

Vacuum tubes operate primarily with high voltages that control the
ion flows. Modern transistors are equivalent to vacuum tubes except
that they operate using CURRENT instead of voltage. Transistors
equate to Vacuum tubes by the following comparisons :

Operates from Voltage Current
lower plate emitter negative - cathode
grid base neutral
upper plate collector positive - anode

In the case of the Tesla Power Box, the vacuum tube appears to
function as a "pump", collecting incoming current in the form of ion
intensification. Once this "compressed" ion field reaches a certain
density, the pump allows it to be released into the next stage of
the circuit, be it the actual load or another vacuum tube.

So if the circuit is 6 vacuum tubes in parallel, all fed from a
common antenna, outputting to a common load terminal, then the
common antenna input would feed all vacuum tubes with the same wave.
This would give the greatest CURRENT accumulation because of the
EXPANDED SURFACE AREA of the paralleled tubes.

Note, these vacuum tubes most likely operate in the "cold cathode"
mode since the heaters of the vacuum tubes were not fed by any
outside voltage to provide the heat for the more orthodox therionic
emission.

If the vacuum tubes are hooked in series, then one "pump" would feed
another "pump" to get successively higher densities of electrons.
This would give higher VOLTAGES because of increased PRESSURE.

Keep in mind that electricity is much like air or water. We can
think of voltage as pounds per square inch (PSI) and current as
cubic feet per minute (CFM). That is PSI is pressure, CFM is flow.

Another analog is comparing a river to electricity. In such a
comparison, the speed of the river is the VOLTAGE or pressure while
the width of the river is the CURRENT or rate of flow.

Such a comparison shows WHY current requires THE GREATEST SURFACE
AREA for the maximum flow. Fuses function on just this principle,
when the current flows over the surface of the fuse, it creates
heat. If too much current flows, it creates too much heat causing
the fuse to melt and separate. The more surface area the fuse, the
greater the amount of current can flow, another reason to not place
a penny in a fuse socket.

So we have two antennas (1/4" diameter, 3" long rods), two sets of 6
vacuum tubes connected together by wire and assorted resistors. As
the waves of energy are collected by the 3" rods, positive on one,
negative on another, the energy builds up in the form of increased
ions in each of the paralleled vacuum tubes. As in Moray's
generator, the circuit will feed whatever load is attached as long
as it does not EXCEED the current carrying capacity of the circuit
components. What we have is an energy pumping system.

I made a drawing of the box with some idea of the circuit. My
electronics knowledge is on IC's and transistors with almost nothing
in regard to vacuum tubes so there won't be much technical concept
of the circuit per se. Perhaps after some study, either I or
someone else will come up with some testable or useable circuits.

Does any one have any ideas one how to make a omni-
directional longitudinal scalar wave Receiver & Transmitter?

In contrast to the common Hertzian transverse vector waves,
scalar waves travel, or rather materialize at the receiving end,
at superluminal velocities. Scalar waves also quite effectively
penetrate trough objects, such as a Faraday Shield, which would
stop a ordinary electromagnetic (Hertzian type) wave.

Shown below is a simple directional, (If there is such a
thing as being 'to' directional, this system is it!), scalar wave
generator/detector.

What I'am looking for is a system that doesn't require
LASER like beam alignment. Any one have any ideas?

simple PFM Modulator/Demodulator. Tune the carrier frequency
so that it falls in the "Experimenters band" of 160 to 180
Kilo-Cycles. [Note: By definition Hertzian type waves are
transverse vector waves. So the units used when referring to
scalar waves should be given in the old form of Cycles-Per-Second
(Kilocycles, KC or Mega-Cycles, MC), to prevent confusion.]

Just for the fun of it, try to measure the impedance, and
inductance, of the Caduceus coil, and find its natural resonate
frequencies.

Cancer and Earthly Emanations

In August of 1945, the first atom bombs fell on the Japanese cities Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
In the years and decades after this inferno it was noted that under the survivors, besides other maladies, distinct increase in cancer. Scientist concluded this was the result of Nutron emanation. This brought a new question to researchers about local influences in the development of cancer. The question was: Where do we find more such Nutron emanations, besides the ones created by man himself?

Unfortunately, up to this day there are no dependable ways of measuring this kind of emanation, although it is known that the Nutron has a magnetic property, which a professional radiesthesist can easily find.

The Medical Institute at the University of Bonn in West Germany let the radiesthesist Baron von Rollshausen examines 50 rooms in which patients died of cancer. The rooms had been empty, bare of furniture. Von Rollshausen not only found the accurate place where the beds once stood, but in 48 of the 50 cases in question, determined even the organs which had been affected. In his days, the Nutron emanation had not yet been discovered.

Meanwhile French researchers found that charged electroscopes over disturbed zones lose their charges, because of the ionizing emanation from the earth within seven to eleven seconds where as on neutral grounds it takes up to one-thousand seconds.

No matter how clean the Military claim the Nutron bomb is, it is well known that all ionizing radiation can cause cancer.

The University of Marburg, Germany, scientifically examined three villages with a geophysical meter (Geoscope). Their finding was that cancer resulted exclusively over geological disturbances such as faults, whether water was present or not.

Two thousand years B.C., the Chinese before building a home searched the location with divining rods for geological disturbances and adjusted the buildings with a compass to the earth's magnetic field.

Before setting up a military camp or building a city, the Romans killed a local animal and examined its liver. If it was hardened it was assumed that vegetation and water in that region were not suited for human usage and moved on to another location.

In 1911 two European physicians, Dr. Northnagel and von Hohenfels, did not allow their patients to sleep in the same location as they had before a cancer operation, knowing that the place where one becomes cancerous is the worst place for convalescence.

It has been proven over and over again that locations which are cancer causing happen to be over strong thermo-nutronic emanation from the ground. Even the British Atlas of Mortality (Nelson & Son, London 1962-1970) contains statistical proof that the place where one lives or works has much to do with terminal cancer, but, of course, no scientific explanation is given. Anyone who avoids sleeping or working for long periods over such zones will avoid cancer. This is not an assumption but a scientifically-proven fact which is ignored although not disproved.
A pioneer in this field, Gustav von Pohl, used the 1929 cancer-death reports kept by the Statistic Office for a decade to determine the exact bands across the country where cancer occurred. Death certificates and location reports showed that not one mortality occurred even within the width of a bed outside of the established band. Further more, later reports showed that new deaths again occurred exclusively over the same sleep and work locations.

Dr. Hager, a health officer in Europe, investigated 5,348 cancer fatalities and found that cancer is locally restricted. If a disease is restricted to a lace or narrow band, it should not be surprising if it re-occurs generation after generation in the same family since the same bed location is used for sleeping, because of tradition or room layout. When successive generations die of cancer is it any surprise that people should assume the disease to be inherited, to lie in the family?
The Russian-American Engineer, Georges Lakhovsky, who invented the multiwave oscillator, came to the same conclusion. In his book, The Secret of Life, he explains how geological conditions in the earth affect and change beneficial radiations into detrimental ones: "Sand, sandstone, gravel and such are dielectric in nature and absorb external radiation to a great depth, reflecting none back to the surface , but clay, marl, alluvial deposits and mineral ores are resistant to penetration and give to secondary radiations which modify the field of external radiations. People living on such soil show the highest incidence of cancer."

The only British study is that of Dr. Alfred Hariland which is condensed in a book he published in 1892, The Geographical Distribution of Disease in Great Britain, where he points out that there is a low mortality from cancer over limestone locations in all of England and Wales, but, on the other hand, clay and flood areas are associated with high cancer mortality.

A contemporary British dowser and writer, Bruce Copen, Ph.D., D.D. Litt. not only walks in the same footsteps but at the same time shows a way out, as he explained in his book Radiesthesia for Home and Garden. Those who live over a sandy soil appear to enjoy a better night's sleep then those who sleep over granite or clay: the loss of sleep is due to cosmic radiation bouncing from the under layers of strata and being amplified by the springs of such a thing as a bed: the whole bed becomes a radio wave collector which can be remedied by suitable neutralizing the bed against these rays." Copen recommends laying a wire along the mattress and connecting it to the ground, or making an oscillator with a flexible, isolated wire fastened around the mattress, the ends overlapping about one foot on each side with one inch space in between and making sure that the positive end of the wire is on top as shown in Fig. 1. The positive and negative ends of the wire can be found by using a pendulum or substitute.

But when a whole room, house or working place is affected, neutralizing by grounding can be complicated or even impossible. In such case, the Nornen Coil comes in handy. This is a simple gadget every one can make. It consists of two conical coils, both wound in a clockwise direction only and glued together at the narrower end. Isolated 20-gauge wire will do. About 40 feet of hookup wire for each coil, the cone can be from plastic or styrofoam. The upper, positive pole connects to an antenna, the lower negative coil ground to a water pipe or the like. In many cases, metallic roof gutters can be used as antenna, but watch that the down pipe has no connection with the ground. If it has, replace the last foot or so with a plastic pipe. A coil with a diameter of two inches at the narrow end, give inches on the larger end and a height of 6 inches having 54 windings achieved complete neutralization of an area 280 feet in diameter. It is advised not to sleep to work close to the coil, keep a good distance. It has been found that iron pipes anchored in concrete blocks within a garden neutralized a circle about ten feet in diameter.
The aforementioned methods neutralize negative emanation in the environment, Lakhovsky's multi-wave oscillator was designed to cancel detrimental effects on humans, animals and plants. According to Lakhovsky, reflected and, therefore inharmonious vibrations, induce their unhealthy frequencies on living cells through the law of resonance. A cell out of its natural frequency will change its function and grow differently, which is know as cancer.

Lakhovsky's oscillator sends out waves in multiple frequencies, giving each cell an opportunity, with help from the law of resonance, to restore its harmonics. This theory has been clinically proven many times over by physicians in France, New York and elsewhere.

. The Nornen coil is easy to construct, as cone size, coil-windings and wire are not critical as long as both wire and cones are equal, and the same amount of windings of 50 or more with armature-wire or other isolated wire 25-32 gauge is okay. Hobby and notion stores sell styrofoam cones in any shape and size, about 8 inches long is fine. Cut point off and glue together after winding, and connect wires on pointed ends also.

THE BALANCING CIRCUITS of L.E. Eeman Compiled from the BSRF files
Around 1920 Englishman L.E. Eeman pioneered a system of healingbased on the bio-energy fields of the human body. He discovered thatconnecting body extremities with insulated copper wires had manybeneficial therapeutic effects. Eeman published his experimentalfindings in 1947 under the title COOPERATIVE HEALING. Since then, agrowing number of physicians and lay health practitioners have used hisdiscoveries with amazing results.

Briefly, Eeman reported these basic reactions.

First, the body asa whole seems to act like a large but very weak (subtle) magnet withpolar activity confined to the hands, feet, and spine. "This bodybehavior which suggests bi-polarity is automatic in both sexes, inhealth and disease, and it manifests in the absence of artificialenergy and not only independently of suggestion but even against it."

Secondly, in right-handed persons, the head, right hand and right footusually exhibit the same polar effect (in 99% of humans - there havebeen rare exceptions). Eeman called these the Positive Poles. Withthis established, the sacrum, left hand and left foot became theNegative Poles.

Thirdly, "..any arrangement which connects polaropposites is referred to as a relaxation circuit and any arrangementwhich connects polar similars as a tension circuit. The relaxationcircuit automatically promotes relaxation of the voluntary muscles andstimulates functional activity. It fosters sleep and recovery fromdisease. It also increases capacity for work and health in general."

The etheric energy of the body, termed the X force by Eeman, flowsaround "blockages" when in circuit. Eeman's researches went beyond theuse of the relaxation circuit by one person alone. He went on to showthat two or more persons connected together by relaxation circuits hada strong tendency to normalize each others' weaknesses, automatically.

How important is it to understand the basic building blocks of Tesla Technology relating to HAARP?

Marconi used Tesla circuits but in a way that did not apply the wide range of particular tuning that Tesla was able to accomplish.

His word had fallen on deaf ears...until today...

Five Tibetan Rites

Peter Kelder did not write The Fountain of Youth.

Peter Kelder did write The Eye of Revelation, ISBN: 0-945685-04-1

Peter Kelder was in Tibet in the 1930's but his work has nothing to do with the Tibetan culture that we are familiar with today. To call The Rites Tibetan Rites is really an attempt to exploit the Tibetan culture. We have attempted to avoid that association at Borderland Sciences.

Borderland Sciences Research Foundation has the copyright for this material since 1975 under its actual title The Eye of Revelation. The Fountain of Youth is merely a reprint of this material padded with 100 additional pages. Because Eye of Revelation is such a silly old name we have called Peter Kelders work The Five Rites for years and years.

The Five Rites have been important to Borderland Sciences because they are a powerful example of a simple empirical experiment that you can perform with no tools and experience a powerful change in your consciousness and perception.

The Five Rites as given by Peter Kelder do not make reference to ether, glands, or chakras but simply to Vortexes. The connection of the Vortexes to the glands of the Endocrine system is no mere coincidence; this is an ancient borderland science. The glands and the nerve plexus are the physical manifestations of the chakras. I imagine the colorful wheels depicted in chakra mythology are descriptions of the fields viewed through highly developed senses that can perceive the ether as Rudolf Steiner describes in his ideas on perception and sense development.

That the glands are radiating energy we know from the radio, electric interpretation of life as developed by George Crile; "Evolution probably seized upon the factors that have the power of shifting the amount of radiation toward the short wave field, hence increasing the amount of electricity generated. Thus, an increase in the electrical charge increases the muscular and glandular activity of the animal."

The Five Rites seem to enhance the ability to shift the amount of short wave radiation toward the short wave field. We seem to see a glimpse of the etheric/electric transmutation taking place within the Vortex. The Five Rites stimulate the entire "energy-controlling system" and hypothetically the body's ability to receive vital force is enhanced

From universal scientific principles we can begin to build a hypothesis on how it is the development of the endocrine system that underlies one of the major benefits of certain types of exercise.

It is not the ancient religious practices of Tibet that empowers these five simple movements.

It is more likely that the Tibetans had discovered some secrets to consciousness and the endocrine system and encodeded them in poetic language and ritual practice.

Some strange stuff comes out of Tibet.

The Five Rites are clearly much more of a Secular Magick than anything resembling any of the ancient religious practices of the far east. This is a perfect example of the universal idea getting transplanted in new soil. That these movements have an intrinsic value to the health has been amply demonstated.

Things have been going on fine until the last few years when we have these new "teachers" of the five rites who want to exploit the technology for their own personal interests. Peter Kelders work has been preserved by Borderland Sciences since at least as early as 1975 but you will see no mention of this in the newer versions.

There are 32 pages in the original book by Peter Kelder. He did speak with Llamas in Tibet and this is the record of what he learnt. This original account is only available from Borderland Sciences Research Foundation. This is not traditional Tibetan religion but this is powerful evidence of an ancient practice that is rooted in the Borderlands of perception.

THE FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH & YOUR HORMONES

Everyone has heard of the mythical "Fountain of Youth", but very few realize that it actually does exist. And even fewer realize that it exists inside every one of us. Yes, it's there right within you, just waiting to be activated !!

Juan Ponce de Leon, the Spanish explorer sailed around the Florida coast in search of the legendary "Fountain of Youth"..the secret to being young again forever. That was five hundred years ago, more or less. Since then modern day 'explorers', in the form of researchers, have been continuing the quest for the secrets to attain eternal youth

They have discovered that at the core of this fountain is the body's hormonal or neuro endocrine system, the collective name assigned to the glands and organs that manufacture hormones within our bodies.

Aging is a process that happens to all of us. Usually around thirty to thirty-five years of age, we begin to notice the first telltale signs of aging, the strands of gray hair, the deepening of expression lines (the pre-cursor to wrinkles), the slight sagging of facial features, the gradual loss of skin elasticity as collagen formation declines. In fact, average longevity has gone up all over the world since the beginning of the 20th century. In the U.S longevity has increased by as much as 25 years.

However, regrettably, the factor that has not changed is the number of years one has to live with age-related disability. It is still an average of ten years for most of us. There is no question that each one of us, man and woman, would like to live our sixties, seventies and eighties with looks, health and vitality intact. Nor do we like the idea of losing any of our faculties or senses. Can we minimize, or eliminate completely this period of decrepitude from our lives?

In varying degrees, they all work! But think about HOW they work!

Diets and cardio-vascular exercises work by regulating the body's consumption of energy. Known as metabolism, it is a complex interaction of chemical conversions that take place continually in order to generate energy and keep the body at optimum level. Control of the entire process lies in the hormonal (neuroendocrine) system.

The challenge element perks up secretions of the hormone adrenaline...the body's age-old response to any form of stress or threat is production of higher doses. The skin is kept hydrated by secretions of oil and sweat-producing hormones, and the entire process of sexuality and reproduction is hormone-induced, and starts from the hormonal (neuroendocrine) system.

And so, through course of diets, exercises, creams and supplements you manage to keep your body and mind in peak condition. What happens when you get a bout of the 'flu'? Without the help of the thymus and your immune system your body may just pack it in !!

The hormonal system has a finger in every pie! Does the concept seem rather esoteric? Do you think I am overplaying the role of the endocrine glands?

Consider the facts. Sift through reports on the most current research going on in this field. Much of the anti-aging experimentation being conducted in various laboratories around the world, is connected with ingestion of hormonal supplements. HGH (human growth hormone) and DHEA, both popular experimental therapies being used at present, are nothing but hormones. And without a doubt they produce benefits, even though it is probably too early to determine if they produce any their attendant side effects.

Then again there is much research connected to the use of release factors or 'releasers', whereby, instead of ingesting supplements, one would ingest releasers, which would activate the glands into releasing hormones. Such experiments are still at an early stage, and not much is known about the attendant side effects, if any.

In fact, this very principle of hormonal flow seems to have been known to the Himalayan people in ancient times, and forms the basis of the Tibetan yoga rejuvenation and anti aging technique. They seem to have way ahead of us in their knowledge. They knew, 4000 years ago, how to push the button that would cause the body to produce its own natural releasers, rather than rely on artificial synthetic ones. Radiesthetic measuring devices have accompanied humanity for a very long time. Looking back in history, Egyptian priests were already familiar with the fork rod, as can be seen in sculptures and on picture plates found in the tombs of the Pharaohs in the Valley of the Kings (3000 to 332 BC). The divining rod also played a special part in the ore mines of the 15th century. In the writings of Paracelsus (1493 -1541), he stresses the great importance of the divining rod. A script from the year 1700 reports about learned diviners, surveying in old tunnels of mines, whether it would be profitable to reopen them or not.

In early days, the two-hand rod was used for divining, to detect disturbance fields, or mental testing was carried out with the pendulum, but today, the one-hand rod is the common instrument applied for medicinal Radiesthesia.

Radiesthetic diagnosis by means of one-hand rods has established its significance in alternative medicine. Our Intelligent Companions, the Plants

We take it for granted that plants are essential for maintaining our ecosystem, for producing oxygen, and providing the primary food source in a vast chain to which man belongs. But plant intelligence also reflects a soul-life and consciousness, which is an overall unifying factor.

How the vegetable kingdom first emerged and became established is mysterious. Plants have been evolving for many hundreds of millions of years as have minerals, viruses, and bacteria. One of the oldest fossils of any living form appears to be a microscopic plant, a bacterium, trapped in a type of black chert rock in Swaziland, Africa, and reckoned to date back over three billion years. A simpler colonial relative of blue-green algae is dated at 2.8 billion years. Flowering plants suddenly appeared approximately one hundred million years ago towards the latter half of the Cretaceous Age.

In each era the right plants occupied the proper places and adjusted to prevailing conditions along with the animals that went with them. As the ages followed one another, the plants proliferated and helped to set the stage. A vital exchange among the kingdoms -- mineral, plant, and animal -- serves to produce climates and conditions appropriate to the time.

Possibly the first single-celled plants or algae started the sophisticated process called photosynthesis; this involves the transfer of light energy into chemical energy via chlorophyll. When algae suddenly arrive on the scene in the fossil records, their genetic material along with photosynthesis is already evolved and in place. How could this be unless intelligence -- indeed intelligences -- were operating behind the scenes?

The further back to origins we look, the closer the kingdoms resemble one another, and on the single-cell level the distinction between plants and animals seems to disappear. We find that the zooplankton has beautiful forms and geometry similar to diatoms or plant plankton which make zoospores. Most single-celled zoospores have hairlike flagella, and some occurring in algae even possess a light-sensitive eye-spot. The zoospores function like the spermatozoids produced by ferns, mosses, and liverworts, considered among the most primitive multicellular plants. The male sex cells (spermatozoids) of such plants are quite similar in function and appearance to animal sperm cells. This, as well as genetic similarities, points to one ancestry, one source, a primeval protoplasm. Many questions are left unanswered as to their origin.

Undoubtedly intelligent designers produced the original prototypes for the marvelous forms in the plant and other kingdoms. Desire and will are inherent in plants as part of the primal intelligence that has been guiding their evolution, changing and refining their shapes and patterns in response to needs. These marvels of function and design are not limited by size and are everywhere present, from the tiniest spores, pollen grains, or viruses, that require an electron microscope to be seen, to the largest living organism, the giant sequoia, which starts from a seed about an eighth of an inch in size.

Each phylum and family has its own qualities, from roses to redwoods, just as every species has its unique characteristics, both physical and behavioral. The plant's structure shows an elegant geometry indicative of mind and ingenuity. The spiral form that occurs everywhere, represents evolutionary progression. DNA in plants, as in animals and humans, consists of double helices. We also find this helix pattern in the placement of leaves on stems, in the spiral center of a sunflower, a ram's horns, shells -- even in spiral galaxies.

We can learn from the ingenious function and design of seeds and pods. Fruits and seeds are made appealing to eat so birds and animals can disperse them. Thistles and dandelions make parachutes that can fly in the air; the maple seed twirls like a helicopter; others are made to float, like the coconut, and still others, like wisteria, snap their seeds out with alarming force. The leaf, a fundamental organ of the plant, has numerous forms: succulents have water-storage leaves; the mimosa has tiny, compound leaflets that open and close in seconds -- this is one of the few plants that react this way, being very sensitive to light, heat, and touch; cacti of the Americas evolved their leaves into spines, and the stems store water yet act like leaves in carrying on photosynthesis.

The vegetable kingdom has some unusual adaptations and certain animal characteristics. Fungi are related to plants and are classified close to them, but do not have the chlorophyll to make food. Slime molds, a type of fungus, have an amoeba-like form which crawls around on its own, devouring organic matter. Then they come together in one big reproductive parade culminating in an organism that produces a fruiting body containing spores that disperse the fungus. Each of these little amoeba cells has to specialize in forming this structure and it is still not known how they learn the roles they must play. Besides the carnivorous plants, there is also an aquatic single-celled group, the dinoflagellates, which have both plant and animal characteristics. They contain chlorophyll for the manufacture of food, yet may also catch and eat tiny animals. These relationships are complex and not entirely understood, except that they work well now, and appear to have always done so.

All of nature is built on symbiotic or cooperative relationships. Lichens are fungi that work with algae. They surround and protect the algae, giving them nutrients dissolved from the rocks, and in return the algae produce food for them. Both are able to survive in harsh conditions.

Fungi, like all microbes and bacteria, are involved in the breaking-down process or decomposition of things into their original elements. Many are allies of the plants, because they are part of the vast process necessary to recycle vital materials for the plant and other kingdoms. They are indispensable, restoring carbon dioxide to the air and nutrients to the soil. One type of fungus lives in the soil and makes a partnership with the plant's roots, exchanging raw nutrients for food. There are also nitrogen-fixing bacteria living in the roots of legumes.

The behavior of plants and the ways they interact reveal awareness. For instance, there is a warning system among pine trees in a forest and interaction between individuals of a species. There are also responses between kingdoms. Some of the finest examples of interspecies communication are to be found where insects, such as bees, form a symbiosis with flowering plants, serving as pollinators in return for nectar and pollen. Interaction reaches a peak in the orchid family which displays some amazing forms of flowers as well as highly ingenious methods of pollination. The lady's slipper traps a bee in a chamber and frees it by a special exit only after pollination. One group of the genus Ophrys mimics wasps and certain species of flies in a harmless deception. It produces a likeness to the female insect along with an irresistible scent, which attracts the male to try to mate with the flower, thus pollinating it. The timing is synchronized so that the flowers bloom just when the male insects hatch out. Insects and plants have perfected, by mutual awareness, a relationship lasting millions of years.

The forms of plants have been refined through vast epochs of time, and their design reveals a transcendent intelligence. Really to know a plant one would have to look into its soul-life, because there are deep mysteries underlying the most ordinary activities. The germination of a seed is a marvel, for it knows how to send its roots down into the earth and its shoots up toward the light. Behind this action is the great breath of life. "In the plant it is that vital and intelligent Force which informs the seed and develops it into the blade of grass, or the root and sapling" (H. P. Blavatsky, The Secret Doctrine, Private Commentary, 1:291)

Darwin even considered the threadlike roots a kind of brain that searches and burrows downward into the soil. There is the suggestion here of a consciousness diffused throughout the whole plant, focused in its most vital parts such as the shoots or root tips, leaves, and especially the flowers.

The great Bengali scientist, Sir Jagadis Chundra Bose, conducted fascinating experiments with plants nearly a hundred years ago. Dr. Bose combined physiology, physics, and biology in his research and discovered universal relationships. He devised a way for a plant, by reacting to electrical and other stimuli, to "write" its signature on a piece of smoked glass. He observed that the sensitive mimosa has a reflex arc like an animal, and a type of nervous system of its own corresponding to certain cells. He also found that in the cortex tissue of the growing layer plants have pulsing heart cells that help pump the sap up through the stem. Among his many experiments he noted that the carrot was the most excitable of vegetables, and celery one of the least. Bose quotes the following from Henri Bergson:

. . . it by no means follows that a brain is indispensable to consciousness. . . . If then, at the top of the scale of living beings, consciousness is attached to very complicated nervous centres, must we not suppose that it accompanies the nervous system down its whole descent, and that when at last the nerve stuff is merged in the yet undifferentiated living matter, consciousness is still there, diffused, confused, but not reduced to nothing? Theoretically, then, everything living might be conscious. In principle, consciousness is co-extensive with life. -- Mind-Energy, Lectures and Essays, pp. 7-8; quoted in Plant Autographs and Their Relationships, "Response of Inorganic Matter," ch. viii.
Bose went even further in his experiments showing us new interrelationships between the "living" and "non-living" that are not yet fully recognized, and that consciousness is in all matter. His experiments primarily reveal a plant awareness very sensitive to other types of electromagnetic frequencies or waves besides those of visible light.

In the early 1950s Dr. T. C. Singh, head botanist of the Annamalai University, India, discovered that the hydrilla, a water plant, reacted to Indian ragas played on violin, flute, and vina. Further experiments with various pitches of sound caused certain plants greatly to increase their yields. Around the world this research continued in the '60s and ' 70s with mixed results. Plants responded to most kinds of music or sound, to magnetic and electric fields or current, all of which favored growth under certain conditions. It was discovered that jazz and classical music in general gave better results than hard rock, which produced an adverse effect.

Cleve Backster used a polygraph (lie-detector) to test plants, attaching electrodes to the leaves. By recording electrical impulses he found the plants to be extremely sensitive to his thoughts, particularly thoughts that threatened their well-being. Backster also observed a reaction in a plant when even the smallest cells were killed near it. He noted that they have a kind of memory, reacting to someone who earlier had done harm to another plant nearby: in a line-up of anonymous people the plant could pick out the one who had performed the act.

Marcel Vogel, a contemporary, performed most of Backster's experiments successfully. He came to an interesting conclusion: that there is a life force, a cosmic energy surrounding living things, shared by all kingdoms including the human. He said:

this oneness is what makes possible a mutual sensitivity allowing plant and man not only to intercommunicate, but to record these communications via the plant on a recording chart. -- The Secret Life of Plants, p. 24
Nature is a great brotherhood of beings, a symbiosis on many levels, most of it beyond our detection and ordinary understanding. The vegetable kingdom is an essential layer of the living planet's vitality or prana, helping to provide in its metabolism a breathing, intelligent organ that produces and regulates the atmosphere as well as transfers energy into the biosphere. Plants are also a link in the chain of beings, in which each kingdom or level needs the others in order to function and evolve.

Plants, then, have an inner consciousness, a driving force causing them to create the marvelous forms we see around us. There is will and a cosmic urge in them, and a "mind" or instinct which is seen in their activities. Chundra Bose, Backster, and others, demonstrated that consciousness is diffused throughout matter, and need not necessarily have a brain. Goethe, the great German philosopher and poet, conceived of an archetypal plant (Ur-pflanze), an ideal prototype which is the source of all the variations in the plant kingdom, both past and future. He was aware that outer forms are transitory and unstable, and that the universe is constantly changing its appearances due to the operation of transcendental spiritual energies. Goethe recognized this universal process as metamorphosis: this involves a whole being in rhythmic growth, a pulsing consciousness creating and destroying by transformations, much as the caterpillar turns into the butterfly; or as the flower expands from a bud, contracts in the ovary, expands once more into fruit, and contracts into seed. This is fundamental, and can be seen everywhere in the cosmos, with stars exploding into supernovae and imploding into black holes. It is suggestive of the breathing in and out of universes.

What is the ultimate core of intelligent life? Space? Infinity? There are indestructible cosmic seeds or germs -- monads -- behind the soul's growth in the plant kingdom and in all things, each learning by experience through successive forms on the ladder of evolution. As human beings with the same cosmic potential, we can harmonize our souls with nature's essence, and come to know the secret life of all beings, including our brothers, the plants.

Big-wave science: Take one scary phenomenon, find the worst conceivable real-world scenario and scale it up a few notches … that’s the formula for disaster flicks ranging from “10.5” to “Armageddon” to “The Day After Tomorrow,” and now for the “Poseidon” remake as well.

This week, the subject is rogue waves — giant walls of water that dwarf even your run-of-the-mill storm swells. These are distinct from the 33-foot-high, earthquake-generated tsunami waves we came to know all too well in 2004. For ages, mariners have told of much bigger midocean waves, rising more than 200 feet to hammer the ships caught in their sights.

The plot of "Poseidon" posits a 150-foot-high rogue wave, big and bad enough to upturn a cruise ship. Although that's way over the top — kind of like Shelley Winters' acting in the original 1972 "Poseidon Adventure" — it turns out that real-life rogue waves can come closer to that mark than scientists once thought.

Rogue waves, also known as freak waves, have been the subject of more studies in recent years, due to the availability of ocean-monitoring satellites. The European Space Agency says its MaxWave satellite radar project detected more than 10 rogue waves measuring higher than 82 feet (25 meters) over a three-week period in 2001 — perhaps including the 100-foot whoppers that smashed the windows of the cruise ships Caledonia and Bremen.

A 70-footer washed over the Norwegian Dawn cruise ship last year, a nearly-100-footer was reported in 2004 during Hurricane Ivan, and there have been reliable measurements of a 112-foot (34-meter) wave that rose over the USS Ramapo in 1933. Could there have been bigger waves that people didn't survive to tell about? Maybe so: In "The Bird in the Waterfall," Jerry Dennis and Glenn Wolff report that computer models can produce theoretical waves as high as 219 feet (67 meters).

The big mystery has to do with the mechanism that causes the waves. A variety of studies, including the MaxWave observations, have shown that cross currents can "focus" the energy of wind-driven waves through constructive interference.

"At some point, the waves all march in lockstep together, and then again they go their own way," Vijay Panchang, a maritime engineering expert at Texas A&M University in Galveston, told me today.

But sometimes freak waves can arise without those cross currents. "Sustained winds from long-lived storms exceeding 12 hours may enlarge waves moving at an optimum speed in sync with the wind," the ESA reported.

Seabed topography may play a role as well, Panchang said. A "bump" on the seafloor, for example, could give an extra boost to a wave at just the wrong time.

One of Panchang's biggest contributions to the science of big waves is to develop a forecasting model for coastal waves. Currently, the model is being applied to waves off the coast of Maine as well as the Gulf of Mexico and the Gulf of Alaska. You can check out the predictions here.

"Our predictions are reasonable," Panchang said — nothing like the whoppers of "Poseidon," but big enough to catch the attention of mariners and oil-platform operators.
