This month, Ruth Drown joins us and brings up four important points to be addressed.
“The Law of Vibration.”
“Energy emanating from every tissue.”
“Vibration of the tissue as set up by the molecular activity.”
“Wave-lengths peculiar to that organ or tissue and in proportion to the vibration of the tissue as set up by the molecular activity”
The key being here is to suspend our immediate definitions that arise for many of these “simple” terms she is using. To take a second and try to glimpse what she might be talking about in a more open and less technical frame.
One of the main obscurations on the Borderland is language.
We must realize that Ruth Drown was a deeply intuitive mind. Her ability to engineer devices to enable her to work with the most subtle energies seems more art than science.
One of the detractions people make about the use of Ruth’s technical language of the 30’s is that she did not deeply understand electricity and she imagined it to be more “spiritual” than it really is. This is only true when we confine ourselves to the rigid conventional use of language. We are not bound by such conventions on the Borderland of Science. We are not too concerned by the naysayers who cannot even perceive what we are investigating in the first place, but we do use the criticism to sharpen our observations wherever possible.
Our challenge today is to balance Ruth’s intuitive language with the deeply intuitive writing of Gerry Vassilatos.
Gerry has given us a vast amount of material to sift. None of the Vril Compendium can be approached in a linear manner. It is an eleven volume flick book of schematics and articles. Gerry, in the 1990’s was surfing old libraries the way we surf the internet. The Vril Compendium must be browsed. The reading must be absorbed. In time, the vision is very clear but just does not contain a lot of words that can express it to others. A terribly personal journey that is bound to further isolate you from your peers who already think you are a bit daft for indulging in research into alternative sciences.

Lets listen to Ruth Drown in brief detail:
“Thus under the law of vibration each individual has a rate of vibration distinctive to himself. Each organ, gland, and tissue has its own vibration rate as well. Hence the energy emanating from every tissue does so in vibration wave-lengths peculiar to that organ or tissue and in proportion to the vibration of the tissue as set up by the molecular activity within it. Consequently our bodies are virtually a composite of many “dynamos” constantly creating energy, constantly sending out wave-lengths according to each dynamo’s activity.”
“We know that any dynamo continuously creating energy must have an outlet, a “ground” for these dynamos of ours is the same radio-active ether that penetrates all substance; which passes through the walls of a house and brings to a radio sound-energy from Little America, or from any part of the world; which carries energy in wave-lenghts on radio-active carrier bands about the earth. This same radio-active ether penetrates the body substance and carries off the energy in wave-lenghts emanating from the tissues, returning it again after circling the earth with the speed of light (seven and three quarter times per second.)”

The Theory and Technique of the Drown H.V.R. and Radio-Vision Instrument By Ruth B. Drown, 1938
Gerry Vassilatos introduces us to Moses G. Farmer who is working on improving telegraph circuits. These telegraphs are considered “Vril transactive devices” by Gerry and thus certain observations will also apply to Ruth Drowns circuits which are also clearly “Vril transactive devices”.
Moses G. Farmer explains,
“My invention has for its object to send and receive messages simultaneously over the the same wire and upon one instrument; and to this I accomplish by the employment of an accessory magnet and accessory battery to each instrument, in combination with the main batteries and main magnets, and with a means of reversing the direction of the current of each of the main batteries, as will be hereinafter more particularly described.”
“The outside contact springs are for the purpose of reversing the poles of the main battery or the direction of the main currents. The middle spring, H, is for the purpose of opening or closing what I term the “accessory circuit.”
“The armatures m of the main magnet are stationary; but the armatures m1 of the accessory magnet, together with its arm L, are allowed to vibrate a short distance under circumstances which will be presently explained.”

Gerry Vassilatos gives us important details,
“Specific Vril materials have human-matched conductivity of chief importance. Carbon and Iron are the humanly central matched conductivity. These are groups of human-matched materials. Through the Vril transactive chart we determine the true elements in their number and variations. Vril conductivity with the human organism defines technology. We utilize the materials which are central to Vril conductivity in human organism when measuring and establishing parameters of measurement.”
“Vril conductivities are determined through physical contact with Vril transactive matter. Vril conductivities reveal the degree of inertial agglutination in space. Vril transactive devices reveal the ease with which the Vril dissolves and transects inertial space. Inertial space blocks consciousness. Our chief aim is to dissolve these deadening inclusions.”

Peter Lindemann suddenly appears and nods to Gerry and mentions Bruce De Palma’s work.

Which brings in F.A. Archdale, holding a gyrating pendulum, who adds,
“The late Abbe Mermet carried out his diagnosis in direct contact with his patient. Using his left hand as a pointer he went over the body of the patient, the pendulum gyrating over healthy organs and changing to oscillations over an unhealthy organ.”
“Mermet also measured the nervous tension by applying the pendulum to the clenched fist, fingers uppermost. For a normal man the pendulum should give ten oscillations, but many more if he is depressed.”

Moses G. Farmer, pendulum in hand, observing the oscillation in one direction and then in the reverse, points again to his circuit and explains:

This technical discussion has brought in T.G. Hieronymus from a very rare book that turned up in the churn.
He is eager to share his complete experience in an effort to compare the reversing of the poles in the telegraph to what he calls “Neutralization” in the portable Pathoclast he has with him.

Recently, while taking a treatment from a portable Pathoclast, I attempted to straighten out the cords connecting the collector and coil type collector applicator. The specimen was in well no. 1 and had been analyzed and I was ready for the treatment. In straightening out the cords I inadvertently caused the treatment coil to come close to well No. 1 containing the specimen, while the other ends of the cords were properly connected to the therapy terminals. This produced the same effect as if I had thrown the switch to the proper position for neutralizing well No. 1, because while neutralizing well No.1 the neutralizing coil built into the instrument is connected to the same part of the circuit as the therapy terminals. After giving the treatment a re-check was made on some of the glands, which indicated there was no energy at all in the specimen. Knowing that the energy had been in the specimen, because of an original check had been made, the writer undertook to determine the cause of this particular phenomena, with the result that he was able to duplicate the situation over again.
In case of doubt, keep coils away from the instrument. In fact it would be well to have them disconnected from the instrument until they are actually in place on the body, or better still, don’t throw the switch to therapy until the coils are in place on the body, which position should not be within a couple of feet of the specimen.”

November 2021 Newsletter
I obtained a few more copper scrub pads but have not created any screens from them. I obtained some copper metallic fabric to experiment with but have not had any inspiration.
The only observation I can make from the copper screens that I have been using is that I continue to place them under my mattress when I sleep. I can’t say that I sleep better or am more relaxed but my reflex is to replace it. Habitual? Perhaps.
I have some copies of the L.E. Eeman book How Do You Sleep in Storage but I don’t have a link to sell it. I have added a link I found on the web so you can access it. It is very short.
In the meantime the Inner Circle has been knocking about the office a bit, so I will narrate as best I can how the following excerpts may hold together.
Olive Whicher suggests to L.E. Eeman that the polarities the screens are equilibrating effects the creation of forms, which she suggests is part of the rejuvenation experienced from the screens.
Trevor Constable points to the simple coils or wire loop and how the simple geometry of the Drown device was able to interact with the body, the source of the bioenergetic “signals”.
Guenther Wachsmuth sort of leans in, he is sitting next to Olive, but its almost like he is emerging out of her in some odd projection of a cone. He almost seems to fluster Constable, or it seems pointed at him in some derisive way. I never totally understand the social tensions of these characters…
Glen Atkinson sort of tries to translate what Wachsmuth is trying to tell us. Olive understands brilliantly. I guess they are actually in the same school. I have added a link to Glen’s article so you can read the whole thing.
Even with Glen translating how Wachmuth’s German “the shattering influences” are balanced by forces that “internally and externally work to contain, form and make use of all this Etheric growth activity” I am not entirely sure of what is being expressed. But I do feel the challenge when trying to comprehend the etheric as a ‘counterspace’.

Projective geometry gives a twofold approach to the creation of forms, and this gives access to a truer and more complete understanding of all forms. We learn to see that all form is in fact the outcome of the interplay and union of opposites. Chapter Fifteen Cosmic Electronics
These nine ten-position dials, with a single loop of wire around each dial position behind the panel, are led out at one end to two metal plates. Athe the other end, the dials are connected via the rubber detection pad to ground. In a diagnostic set-up, the patient sits with his feet on the foot plates, the patient is the source of the bioenergetic “signals” originating in the tissues that are to be tuned by the instrument. ...
The Drown instrument similarly begins with an antenna. The antenna collects his “broadcast” -- the totality of the emanations from his bodily tissues and organs. From this totality, the various “transmissions “ from the heart, lungs, liver and other individualized structures are separated out by a tuning process.

Page 69 is a letter from July 2, 1941, a response from the Director of the FBI John Edgar Hoover thanking Rife for his offer of use of his laborator and microscope for analysis of evidence.
On page 7 John Crane explains the microscope...
The rays of light refracted by the specimen enters the objective lens and are carried up the tube in parallel rays through twenty one light bends to the ocular lens. A tolerance of less than one wavelength of visible light is permitted in the core beam of illumination. In the standard optical microscope, the light rays tend to converge as they rise higher and finally cross each other, arriving at the ocular lens, separated by a considerable distance.

Poppelbaum (1) offers a quote of RS, “From all sides these etheric forces stream, as if striving towards the center of the Earth. They would be compelled to tear the earthly matter to pieces, to dissolve it into
formlessness, did there not enter into this ‘space of forces’ the modifying influence of the extra terrestrial heavenly bodies (1)”, and then goes on to talk of the etheric as a ‘counterspace’.
2) An alternative interpretation is that RS is still talking of the Cosmic Ether here, which includes the stars and planets, coming from the periphery, so when it hits the Earth, it is the Etheric activities within the Cosmic Ether complex, that contain the shattering influences of their physical companion, as the etheric just wants to make a huge blob of dividing cells. The Star and Planetary companions both internally and externally work to contain, form and make use of all this Etheric growth activity.

Can you do anything to help save your nervous energy, to increase your store of it, to accumulate it, and to shorten the time taken by the process? Can you take in more energy in less time, so that you can go to sleep sooner and do better repair work and more of it?
You know that you store your nervous energy in your brain and that it circulates through your nerves. Now, here is the simple idea that you will find quite easy to grasp, that you are asked to examine and accept or reject, and in any case, to test in practice.
When you lie, relaxed, flat on your back, but awake, the fact that you are doing nothing does not stop your nervous energy circulating through your nerves, any more than a momentary pause during a telephone conversation stops the electric current circulating in the telephone wire. Your nervous energy goes on circulating all the time, but you are doing nothing with it, you are not using it up as it circulates, and some of it, as it gets to your nerve endings in the hands and feet, escapes from you, oozes out of you, and is lost. You know how fond old people are of resting with their hands clasped and their feet crossed, whilst babies and vital young children don't do that kind of thing. The old are tired, short of energy, and by linking their terminals they complete two circuits, keep their energy circulating within themselves and store it. They do so blindly, instinctively, because of their need, just as children, bubbling over with energy, lie spread-eagled, just as unthinkingly.
You may say: " How obvious; why didn't I think of this before? Let's try it at once," or " What an absurdly unscientific presentation of pseudo-scientific nonsense." In either case you won't really know until you have tried, and if you make up your mind to test this " pseudo-scientific nonsense," you must do so in a strictly scientific manner, so that there may be no logical escape from whatever conclusion your experiment may force upon you.

July News is combined with the June News which was never mailed. Mercury Retrograde takes a toll on my ability to make sense of the impressions or even have any interest in attempting/failing to tie together the synchronicity.
I have been enjoying the notion that the authors pass in and out like ghosts, members of the Inner Circle like in the old days.

Jorge Resines, author of Some Free Energy Devices, is making an appearance. Jorge was keen to meet Mark Clement, author of Waves That Heal and point out a connection between the copper coils of the Lakhovsky oscillating circuit and the copper coils of the Schappeller sphere.
Like most times, I am not smart enough to understand what they are talking about but maybe you have a better inkling (as is often the case).

In trying to get a better idea who Karl Shappeller was I came across a very interesting slice of the internet. I captured it from a deleted wiki page in German.
Points to odd philosophical or political splits between Vril and Ether among the early scientists.

Kraft was interested in telling us that entire paragraph early in June of last month before the Mercury Retrograde. Only now that I am pasting in the text from June to bulk out this newsletter so I see the uncanny synchronicity.
“obscure developments in Germany in the field of world-ether research” ties us to the rather obscure, or so we thought at first, reference to "reichsarbeitsgemeinschaft" which was almost both too spooky and irrelevant to include in the newsletter.
Mark, Karl, Jorge and Carl all give me a weird look and get back to the observation of the evidence at hand.
The next notes come from June 28th and things were not quite right still, a full mercury retrograde cycle goes all the way back until it returns to the original degree.

Although it just occurs to me that this could mean that nothing will happen at all, but I think I always read this as “entirely” negative or something terrible...which would be fine if Lakhovsky ever gave any directions as to the proportions of the circuit coils.

"There is good reason why rivers wind and twist through valleys and plains. They are trying to preserve the primary form of the sinosoidal curve produced by the slightly declining planetary movement of the earth. UNTIL 1836 the English public had never heard of Andrew Crosse. A small circle of friends knew that he lived at a rather dilapidated country-seat in the Quantock Hills, where he spent his time, and what money an encumbered estate allowed him, in electrical experiments. This American pendulist of the 20th century had a most interesting experience. During the Cold War in the 1960's, he was invited by the government of South Africa to help them locate their country's precious natural resources using his pendulum. He was denied a passport by the US government.
The reason is strangely amusing. A few years earlier, Mr. Cameron was invited by the US Navy to test his ability of dowsing. He performed map dowsing or tele-radiesthesia and located correctly every submarine in the Navy's fleet. The US Navy officials were shocked when he could locate not only every US submarine, but also every Russian submarine in the world. As a result, the CIA determined that Verne Cameron was a risk to national security, and he was forbidden to leave the United States.

On the contrary this unique item, The Beginnings of Life, is over 1000 pages of detailed experiments, theory, and more information on bacteria than seems humanly possible. This book set is clearly for your intense love of biological research. You must be obsessed with the Origins of Life to want to possess this amazing book by H. Charlton Bastian. This set is for the Biologist who not only enjoys investigating the origins of life but wants the opportunity to wander through the many experiments that Bastian has developed to clarify his ideas.
I can't understand most of this book. What I have read is very interesting but the question is so large I find it very difficult to boil it down to a quick quote for a simple spam article like this. In fact I have been struggling with this assignment from the Inner Circle for over two three weeks. I have an idea that I am going to blog this "newslitter" so that when you decide to buy this book for your Biogenesis research (Archebiosis?) you can let us know what this is really all about.
The difficulty is describing this huge tome has been baffling me. Every time I try to dip in for a quote to sum things up or demonstrate how interesting and useful this book may be the content widens out into a very profound investigation of the origins of life; how it is defined and methods used to understand it.
Digging around to try to understand better what this book set represents and why it was in the storage archive waiting to be auctioned to this list I came across an old article that seemed to frame Bastians work historically.
This June 30th 1877 article in the UK Spectator magazine gives a very detailed thumbnail of the sort of experimental actions taken that help flush out the controversy of vitalism vs. germ theory. It is rather detailed but pales in comparison with the painfully detailed descriptions given by Bastian in his book on the Beginning and Way of Life.

DR. BASTIAN'S EXPERIMENTS ON THE ORIGIN OF LIFE.
"THE question whether vitality and organization are capable of being evolved from dead matter, or must always proceed from a previously existing organism, is one which is older than Lucretius, as a matter of speculative thought, and as one of experimental investigation is at least as old as Redi and Spallanzani. Of late years it has again occupied the attention of physiologists, and has been made the subject of laborious research and much conflict of opinion, and the occasion of not a little acrimony. On the affirmative side of the controversy, or that on which the possibility of life being produced without ordinary generation in any of its modes is maintained, our countryman, Dr. Bastian, is the foremost champion ; and on the other, the well-known French physiologist, M. Pasteur, supported by the high authority of Professor Tyndall."
The scope of this set is vast. The Beginnings of Life by Charlton Bastian is a extensive journey into the microscopic realms of the Borderlands. Here is a quote from Bastian's huge two volume tome:
"Can we at present frame to ourselves any possible or conceivable way in which mere molecular motion can result in the manifestation of such phenomena as sensations, thoughts, and all the various modes of self-consciousness? Whilst such problems, and many others just as difficult, remain for out solution, it could never be supposed that we believed the problems of Life to be solved. We have cleared some of the approaches, but there is still an impenetrable temple of mystery. "
Why bother penetrating the Temple of Mystery? What use is it to explore these old ideas coming out of the vestiges of Vitalism? I think this piece of interview I found when searching around helps cast some light at how the current paradigm is not sufficient to allow for the progress into energy medicine and indeed all technology dependent on a shift in worldview.
While Beverly Rubik has nothing to do with Bastians book she makes it clear what the ultimate purpose of this research is: To challenge and change the materialistic paradigm.

REDWOOD: What do you see as the primary features of the dominant scientific paradigm, and how does frontier science challenge it?
RUBIK: The dominant biomedical or biological paradigm is where life is
viewed mainly as a bag of biomolecules, and a human being is a collection of organs, tissues, and other things that it can be reduced to. In that paradigm, the whole is considered the sum of its parts. It's also a mechanistic or materialistic worldview. For example, in the dominant paradigm consciousness is nothing but brain processes or the results of brain processes. Some of its chief features are materialism, reductionism, and fragmentation.
REDWOOD: What are the problems with that paradigm?
RUBIK: I don't think that a molecular view of life is sufficient for
understanding holistic medicine or the whole human being.
REDWOOD: What other factors need to be included to create a larger or more applicable paradigm?
RUBIK: We need to consider energy flows in biology, the subtle energies
that can't really be reduced to molecules. A good example is acupuncture.
I'm aware that some features of acupuncture have been reduced to molecules, such as the analgesic effects that have purportedly been explained in terms of endorphin release. But the nonlocality of acupuncture, and why stimulating at the crown of the head might cure hemorrhoids, is beyond anybody's comprehension from a molecular view. The specificity of that point for hemorrhoids and other points on the body for other internal organs certainly challenge it.

For our second item we have an old 1974 version of The Cameron Aurameter by Vern Cameron.

When this old tome was opened at random a cool quote jumped out from the mysterious chapter of the Aurameter and the Vitic Rods. One of those simple experiments that the old Borderland Research Associate's were so interested it.
"In an article in THE PRACTITIONER, in June, 1914, Dr. J. Horne Wilson wrote of this discovery of mine: 'In this connection (nerve deafness), I may mention that a rod of carbon, which has its molecular condition altered in a similar way to that of iron when it is converted into a magnet, had a most remarkable effect on the body deflections. If held in the right hand it produces an off-scale positive deflection and an off-scale negative if held in the left hand. If held in contact with the right side of the body for five or ten minuets, it makes the hand-to-hand deflections strongly positive, and has exactly the opposite effect if held in the left side of the body. What this force is I do not at present pretend to say, but it has a marked influence on the electrical condition of the body, though no direct influence upon the terminals of the galvanometer. It evidently charges the body with a force akin to nerve energy, as it is retained for a much longer period than electricity is.'
The Divining Rod, written by Arther J. Ellis in 1917, has a great blurb that ties in dowsing research with the more physical forms of dowsing that Borderland Sciences tends to gravitate to.
“Most of the present devices are magnetic or electrical instruments, which taken together, cover almost every application of magnetism and electricity. They range from ordinary dip neeles to telephones and devices using wireless waves. Among the most widely advertised instruments of this kind are W. Mansfield’s “Patent automatic water and oil finders,” Henri Mager’s “Indicator of current ground water,” and Adolf Schmids’s “Device for detecting subterranean waters.” Mansfield’s instrument was denied a patent in the United States on the ground that it was anticipated by the patent of Adolf Schmids. Mager’s instrument, which is described only in all his publications is admitted by him to be only a modification of Schmids’s device.”
“The Instrument is described as a hollow glass cylinder having an axis around which is spirally wound a soft-iron wire is layers that are separated from one another by paraffined paper, and at intervals by layers of tin foil. The outside layer of the spool is covered with paper. The wire of this spool forms an open circuit. The end of the spool is covered with a glass dial plate having at its center a pivot on which a pointer or needle oscillates.”
“It is claimed that when the instrument is in the vicinity of a source or a stream of subterranean water the needle will after a time oscillate rapidly.”
Another paragraph leaped up with a quick scan that deserves a quick read.
“It is true that we don’t know how it works. No really adequate explanation of any form of radiesthesia is as yet available. But it is generally accepted that all substance give off some for or kind or rate of vibration, or emanation and many of these can be picked up[ by apparatus known to science. And there is an enormous mass of empirical evidence to show that hitherto unknown radiations can be picked up by other means, that is, by devices of which orthodox scientism knows nothing. That characteristic of these is that the mind-body energies of the experimenter are involved in the operation. This introduces a erratic personal factor which positivistic science is always trying to get rid of- but the factual results are there, nevertheless. It would be incredibly stupid wither to discard the aurameter or the pendulum, or to put any arbitrary limits on their possible performances. What is needed, of course, is systematic exploration, without either dogmatism or credulity. The mind-body complex is part of the circuit, so to speak.”
Electric Engineers have a set of books that will also take them into the microscopic realm of atomic structure. Rays of Positive Electricity by J.J. Thomson and Atoms and Rays by Sir Oliver Lodge provide a means of investigating the "rays" of the atomic level. These books are as inscrutable if not more so than Bastian's books.

Thomson, that though the present century has been extraordinarily prolific in discoveries in Natural Science, especially in the more physical branch thereof, there was very little popular knowledge or understanding in the matter. Nevertheless there is a keen interest, even in the most abstruse things; as has been proved by the number of readers of books on the Einstein method of Relativity. And there is evidently a real desire to learn about anything which Physicists will take the trouble to expound with sufficient clarity to be generally intelligible. The present book is an effort in that direction."
and in the Preface to Positive Rays, Thomson writes:
"I have endeavored in this book to give some account of the experiments on Positive Rays which have been made at the Cavendish Laboratory during the last seven years, and which have been the subject of papers scattered through the Philosophical Magazine, the Proceedings of the Royal Society. I have in addition, included a short account of the researches of Stark and others of the Doppler effect in Positive Rays and of Gehrcke and Reichenheim's experiments on Anode Rays, as these, those on the Doppler effect especially, are very closely connected with the results obtained by the very different methods described in the earlier part of this book. I Have described at some length the applications of Positive Rays to chemical analysis ; one of the main reasons for writing this book was the hope that it might induce others, and especially chemists. to try this method of analysis. I feel sure there are many problems in Chemistry which could be solved with far greater ease by this than by any other method."
